A Jewish journey...
from Baghdad to Calcutta

Please join us as Rahel Musleah leads us on an eastern journey – through prayer, song, and story.

During a special erev Shabbat service led by Rabbi Koster, Rahel Musleah will open a window on a rich but little-known Jewish culture by sharing with us the liturgical songs of Calcutta, India. Cantor Steinsnyder will join Rahel in introducing the congregation to the melodies of the Baghdadi-Indian tradition. Rahel will also speak about the customs and history of the Baghdadi and Indian Jewish communities. The Service will be followed by the Iraqi Jewish dinner prepared by Aodi Zilkha, which will add special flavor to this unique Shabbat celebration. DINNER RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED WITH A CHARGE OF $20 PER PERSON adult or child. SEATING IS LIMITED. (Childcare/Junior care is available until 9 pm, if needed.)

At every Synaplex Shabbat, youth ages 8 to 12 are invited to participate in Junior Congregation and children ages 2 - 7 are invited to Shabbat Kinder Care.
