Where do our musical traditions come from? Rabbi Hirsch, Cantor Nancy Bach and Anita Hollander are pooling their creativity and passion to expand our repertoire of Jewish music. Throughout history, our prayers have been set to popular melodies. So what we think of as traditional liturgical music may have begun in opera houses, market places or brothels. From Max Bruch to Debbie Friedman, composers have explored new musical settings for ancient texts. We want to honor our various traditions, while creating new ones.
