Kabbalat Shabbat is a music-filled Friday night service open to all. This is a chance to step outside the week’s demands, to reflect and to find respite in the poetry of Jewish ritual and song, in the embrace of a welcoming community.
Our Erev Shabbat services are enriched by the music and voices of Cantor Nancy Bach, Anita Hollander, Children’s Choir Director and special guests who will be joining us at selected services throughout the year.
Erev Shabbat services begin at 6:45 PM. There are no Shabbat morning services during the summer. We encourage our members to volunteer at the Village Temple Soup Kitchen on Saturday mornings.
On Saturdays when the community celebrates B’nei Mitzvah, our Shabbat morning services continue in the same prayer book, with music designed to wake us up, physically and spiritually in stages, as we approach the Torah service and closing prayers.
