Religious School

From Early Childhood through Grade 12, The Village Temple Religious School offers a fascinating journey through Jewish history and texts, Hebrew and culture, ethics and rituals. Our education program inspires and empowers our students to realize how Judaism is relevant to their lives. At our downtown synagogue they learn how Jewish ethical principles and commitment to social justice can guide them in their relationships within their families, with God, with friends, and with their larger community.

The Village Temple Religious School curriculum and programs empower our learners:
• To understand and take pride in the history and sacred texts of the Jews as a people and as a religious community.
• To participate with confidence in Shabbat and holiday services, possessing sufficient knowledge of Hebrew for the prayers to be meaningful.
• To put the principles of Judaism into practice in the context of family, congregation, and community, including acts of Tikkun Olam.
• To develop a personal connection with the State of Israel, its peoples and land.
